Your most valuable databases need the most care. That means upgrading and patching them. This case study shows how an (old) 12.1 multitenant database is migrated to a modern Database-as-a-Service cloud platform and in the meantime upgraded to the latest Oracle 18c.
As critical applications are running in this database, only limited downtime is possible. Such a big migration can sometimes be quite a challenge, but using several techniques combined, even this challenge can be a success.
